Announcing our new COO: Megan McGlynn Scanlon
Help us welcome Megan McGlynn Scanlon as GKI’s Chief Operating Officer!
As COO, she will oversee GKI’s active programming, operations and finances, and supervision and development of the GKI team. Megan has been with GKI as a director-level Program Lead since July 2021, leading a learning agenda development initiative and the Accelerating Innovation for Resilience program. She has almost 20 years of experience across nine countries focused on civil society/nonprofit organizations, networks, and systems, and the development and execution of international and community development programs.
Prior to GKI, Megan spent two years advising and leading consulting projects for USAID, various development implementing partners, private foundations, and small civil society organizations in the US and internationally. From 2016-2019, she served as Senior Program Officer for Civil Society and Local Philanthropy at the Aga Khan Foundation focused on Central Asia and East Africa. Previously, she had lead roles in several initiatives focused on the women’s movement and strengthening the civil society ecosystem in Indonesia.
A Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and former AmeriCorps volunteer with a travel bug, Megan also has a Dual Master’s in Social Work and Public Policy and Administration focused on organizational management and program planning from Columbia University. She is professionally trained in systems and network analysis, feminist monitoring and evaluation, organizational capacity development, USAID rules and regulations, and project management.
