Jessi joined GKI in January of 2020, building on a career crisscrossing the public, private and nonprofit sectors. Jessi brings to GKI a well rounded and diverse skill set in designing and implementing strategy, building programs, and guiding teams through growth and change. At GKI she leads a wide ranging portfolio of work focused on systems change strategies across the development sector with an emphasis on multi-stakeholder approaches. She also guides GKI’s new practice development and thought leadership.
Jessi joins GKI after a sabbatical where she traveled and served as an Organizational Development Specialist for a local nonprofit in the Republic of Georgia with Peace Corps Response. Prior to her sabbatical, she worked with Context Partners, a design thinking firm focused on social impact and sustainability leveraging communities and networks to address complex problems. As a ‘third culture kid,’ Jessi appreciates the opportunities to be found in ambiguity. She grew up in Cameroon, Guinea Bissau, Zimbabwe, and South Africa and has direct cross-cultural work experience in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Chile, Colombia, Belgium and Georgia. She speaks and has worked in English, Portuguese, French, Spanish, Bengali and Georgian.
Jessi holds an MBA in global strategy from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and an BA in Sociology and International Studies from Kenyon College. She is also a level 2 certified CrossFit Coach.
