Junior Program Officer
Chase joined GKI in 2017 as a Junior Program Officer. In this role he supports a diverse portfolio of GKI’s programs. Currently, Chase helps drive innovative solutions to reducing post-harvest food loss, and works to develop robust knowledge networks to scale those solutions in Sub-Saharan Africa. Additionally, he contributes to GKI’s work with the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, helping their innovationXchange facilitate innovative approaches to solving complex development challenges in the Asia Pacific and beyond. Going forward, he aims to leverage his expertise in resilience, bridging GKI’s approach to problem solving with our world’s time-sensitive environmental challenges.
Growing up along the coast of Florida, Chase developed a keen interest in understanding the growing threat of climate change and the potential impacts on social, economic, and environmental systems. This passion led him to a few-year stint with the World Bank, where he helped develop strategies for adapting to these impacts and building long-term resilience in coastal areas of West Africa and Southeast Asia.
Chase studied political science at Florida State University (go Noles!) and earned a Master’s degree in Sustainable Urban Planning from George Washington University. In his free time, you can probably find him playing the piano, playing football or fútbol, cooking up something delicious, or exploring DC and the surrounding Mid-Atlantic region.
