Chase is a Program Officer who manages and supports projects across GKI’s portfolio, primarily in the Policy & Strategy and Systems Research & Evaluation programs. Much of his work with GKI has focused on improving food systems around the world, as well as achieving sustainable changes in complex systems. He has served as a researcher on projects for a range of clients, including the US Agency for International Development, Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition, and the Rockefeller Foundation, utilizing methodologies in Complex Systems and Futures Foresight to unearth innovative insights about a host of development challenges.
Growing up along the coast of Florida, Chase developed a keen interest in understanding the growing threat of climate change and the potential impacts on social, economic, and environmental systems. This led him to the World Bank, where he helped develop strategies for building long-term resilience in West Africa and Southeast Asia. He studied political science at Florida State University and earned a Master’s degree in Sustainable Urban Planning from George Washington University. In his free time, you can probably find him playing the piano, playing football or fútbol, cooking up something delicious, or exploring DC and the surrounding Mid-Atlantic region.
