Amanda Rose

Innovation Advisor, RTI International

Amanda worked alongside COO Sara Farley and as GKI’s first full-time staff hire to transform GKI from mere concept to an internationally-recognized collaborative innovation leader. Amanda invested in every facet of GKI’s organizational development during her nine-year tenure as a staff member. Most recently, Amanda led the organization’s efforts as the Innovation Partner for YieldWise, the Rockefeller Foundation’s $130 million initiative to halve postharvest food lost in Sub-Saharan Africa. In this role, she spearheaded technology scanning, innovation capacity building, and innovation strategy support for Foundation staff members and in-country implementing partners such as the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) and TechnoServe. Now, as a Board member, Amanda continues her commitment to building GKI into a world-class organization on the cutting edge of innovating in global development.

Amanda currently serves as an Innovation Advisor for RTI International where she leads the market intelligence portfolio for the Sanitation Technology Platform (STeP). STeP helps to de-risk and bring to market novel sanitation solutions funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Previously, Amanda received a B.S. in Chemistry and in Interdisciplinary Studies from North Carolina State University, and an M.S. in International Science and Technology Policy from the Elliott School of International Affairs at The George Washington University. She is a proud active-duty Marine Corps spouse and mother of two.
